Hello everyone,
So I am going to attempt to answer your questions, but there is a lot of them, so if I miss some, ask again and maybe I will get an answer next week. You all asked a ton of questions. Still no animals, just millions of dogs and lizards. We will get our boots next month probably. (The mission will provide galoshes for the rainy season) The senior couples are American. There are 2. One is the Miles and the other is the Carleys. The Miles started in Liberia but were moved to Cape Coast in Ghana and have been asked to return to Africa for a few months. We are the only 2 in the apartment now. The other elders in the district are Elders Anku and Okpara. No packages usually make it here. Sorry. I will look for the one you sent.
This week was cool. We received a referral from the Barneys on Monday for a sister in our area. She is an older woman whose family is almost all members, but her problem is that she doesn't want to baptize again. We invited the Barney's to come with us for our second appointment. It was the first time I taught with the senior missionaries. They helped us a lot with contribution. Because of Easter, she didn't come this week, but next week she said she would come.
Yesterday, I visited the last of our three branches. It is a cool place. It was the Kossoh Town branch. Also, yesterday, for Easter, we didn't need to prepare any food. When we woke up in the morning a member surprised us with breakfast, rice of course. Then, we got a call that the district president wants to feed us fufu after church and another member wants to feed us that evening. Again rice. Even that night our landlord's wife brings us fried chicken and fries. A day of enjoyment.
Our baptisms on Saturday were a success. But the service was supposed to start at 9 but didn't until past 11. The font wasn't even being filled until after 10:30. I was kind of frustrated. But this week another branch will have 5 or 6.
I will try to get a picture of the bikes, they are just normal motor cycles but will try. (We asked for a picture of the motor taxis)
Today, we went to the beach and played football (soccer) with the zone. Playing in the sand is hard and I have sand all over me, but we had fun.
Elder Warner Ashby
PS My release date is August 22, so I will probably be home that Wednesday.
