no conference 4 o 4

Hey everyone,

I hope you enjoyed Bear Lake and Conference.  I forgot that it was conference weekend until the couples came home and told us they watched the Saturday morning session at the mission home.  It wouldn't be possible for us to watch most of it anyway because the morning sessions don't start until 5 pm.  But when the CDs come, we will be able to watch in English because there is no Krio setting.

This week has been good.  Aside from teaching, we didn't do anything exciting.  But this week has been nice.  We don't do any contacting at all.  We call the branch mission leader or a branch missionary for the area that we will go to when planning our day, and he will take us to the investigators that are coming to their branch.  Honestly, our area is so large that we can't know everyone's house, so we rely on the branch to help us.  The investigators class is always full of investigators and recent converts so we are able to teach a lot of people in each branch.  We also work with lots of less actives.  They call us over all the time and tell us that they used to be members and we try to invite them back. Sometimes they give us lame excuses about why they couldn't come, but sometimes they just need the invitation. We have been working with a man named Michael.  He has been investigating the church for about 3 years, even before the mission was closed.  His problem is he is cohabitating, but he is really working on getting married to his wife so he can baptize.  He hopes that she will join him in the church, but we are trying to help him see that he needs to do what is right for him and let her make a choice.  Their children are already baptized and we are trying to help him now.

Having the couples in the compound is nice.  They feed us and can run errands for us.  I asked the Carley's to find me some shaving cream because I was tired of soap and couldn't find any, so they got me some.

We had more baptisms in Kossoh Town Branch this last week. 5.  It was better than the Allen Town Branch baptisms.  Still started late.  I think it was almost all the ones that were taught before the mission reopened.

This letter is somehow short, but hopefully next week will be more full.  I will also try to send some pictures while I am here.

Testimony:  I want to bear my testimony, I know the church is true, I know that President Monson is the prophet.  (imagine that in a small primary voice)  I also know that Heavenly Father works through all of us and knows us better than we know ourselves.  And he will strengthen us for whatever task he has for us.  That is something I have found to be very true.

I love you all.  Have a great week at school.  Only about 2 months left. And no breaks. hahaha. You all get out of school too much anyway.
