RAIN

Hello everyone,
So first of all, I finally got the nativities. I will tell you that story later.  I am not 145 lbs.,  I am more than that, but not much.  I wasn't around Ike when you were messaging him.  He called later that evening for something and told me you said hi.  He enjoys chatting with you.  Sis. Constance is having some African wear shirts made for me, and after I get those, I will have everything I wanted from Ghana, I want to look for some stuff in Sierra Leone.

This week was nice.  We had a bit more success in finding and teaching this week than we have had in past weeks.  We almost made our goals this week.  We received a referral from a member to teach her brother who came to stay with her while he goes to school.  He is about 14.  His name is Gideon.  He has come to church 2 times and asks good question.  To bad I won't see him baptize.  That is what happens. When you get transfered, all your investigators get baptized by the next guy.

Last Monday, I was trying to call people about my nativities that I  left in the mission home for someone to bring down to Obuasi for me.  I was told that the man in charge of our apartments, Brother Cooper, had them.   He said no and seemed a bit annoyed about me asking.  The missionaries and Cooper argue about many things like supplies and things that need fixing and it is usually slow to be solved.  Well after making a few calls, I got frustrated and decided to work on some word searches.  As I was doing so and calmed down a bit, I had a feeling that I should text Cooper and apologize for anything that I might have said to offend him.  I didn't really want to because I didn't believe that he was helping in the search. but the more I thought of it, the more I thought I needed to do it.  So I sent the text apologizing and explaining how I felt.  I never heard from him.  The next day, the Wardels came to Obuasi for inspections and told me they were still looking for them.  After they left, we went to zone council and  Sister Wardel calls me and tells me they are found.  I don't know if my text to Cooper did anything or where the nativities were, but I felt good sending the message.  It was a great learning experience.  The spirit taught me a lot that day.

Zone council was cool.  We watched a general missionary broadcast from the missionary department of the Church.  The theme was "teach repentance and baptize converts".  It was good.  there was talks and instruction from Elder Anderson,  Elder Bednar, Elder Clayton, and Elder Oaks and some seventies.  They were really good talks.  It ended around 5 in the evening  and we still had to take care of a few things before we went back, so our day was pretty much gone.  But we enjoyed.

On sunday, it finally rained.  It made the whole area feel better.  It had been so hot this week and we were all burning.  The rain dropped the temperatures a bit and made it more humid also.  Today, we had a zone football match.  It was fun, but hot.  We lost, and I have a sun burn on my neck, but it will just add to my awesome farmers tan that I have.

Next week I will send the nativities home.  I talked with Elder Snow and he explained what to do.  Have a great week.  Love you all.

Elder Warner Ashby

I wonder whose glasses he swiped.
He says he thinks he looks like Harry Potter.  Hmmm.

Elder Snow and I -zone activity

In view of my leaving the country and that microwave is heavy, I donated it to the apartment.
I told my companion if he wanted to pay to fix the buttons it was his.  I will miss that thing.
