I hope everyone enjoyed the week. I am grateful for the Super Bowl news. I guess Manning had a good final year. Appuma is another way of saying how are you. (the translation for last weeks letter beginning)
So this week has been interesting. We said goodbye to Elder Brandt on Wednesday. He and Elder Ike went to Kumasi for transfers. Elder Naawu and I enjoyed going out at 10 for the first time. It was strange to go out then. I haven't done that since I left Kumasi except for exchanges. We worked with Ike ( the branch mission leader not the elder) that day. That evening, Elder Hill calls me and says that Elder Ike's (I-kee) companion is here, but that Elder Ike is still in Kumasi. He didn't get the message that he needs to go to the mission home first and just came straight to Obuasi. So he came to the apartment and we got him settled and Elder Ike came home the next day. The stake missionary's name is Brother Dzah. You say it like Jah. He is a cool guy, but he and Naawu speak twi constantly so Elder Ike and I are somehow alone. We talk some, and I read Jesus the Christ again or mark my new Bible or do those puzzle books.
This week contacting was rough. Everyone that we contacted (which was a few) would not except a baptism date. They either wouldn't let us finish teaching or said I have already been baptized and wouldn't let us explain further. We will keep trying with them this week.
On Saturday, we went to help Sister Rita paint a new food stand she is starting this week. She bought some gold paint and asked us to paint it. We spent a few hours on Saturday painting and then she made us bonku after.
Yesterday, I got hit with a large cold. I woke up with a sore throat and a dry cough. The lights also went out so church was miserable. I went home and took a nap and felt better after. It just took all the energy out of me. Today I feel better. Just have a stuffy nose and sneezing.
I hope to get those nativities tomorrow, so if I can send them I will let you know. Elder Snow is in the zone so I can ask him what to do.
I hope that all of you are doing great. I love you all. Have a great week. Enjoy school and work.
love, Elder Warner Ashby
