I am glad that you all had a good week, even though I didn't hear anything from mom. :( (A bad mommy moment. Somehow I forgot to hit send on the email. I found my email in my drafts after reading his email. That made me so sad.) This week was interesting. On Tuesday, Elder Bradley did his final district meeting which also combined as our district activity. We did the regular accounting for the week and progress and needs of our investigators. After that we played Uno with our entire district. It was a lot of fun. The rest of the day, Elder Bradley spent some time packing and we just stayed around the apartment area. On Wednesday, they finished packing and we went to the Metro Mass Bus Station to pick up our new companions. I talked with Elder Vause and Elder Wilson while I was there. Vause is going to Obuasi and Wilson is going to Sunyani. My new comp, Elder Makuni, is from Zimbabwe and is one transfer younger than me. He seems like he is a cool guy and we should be able to work well together. I spent this week showing him around the more prosperous areas of our area, where we will spend most of our time. We contacted for quite a lot of the week.
We have Elder Adams in our apartment, (he says to say hi). (Elder Adams was in the apartment in Obuasi, his first area. They got along really well with each other.) We have spent a lot of time at the apartment watching the movies that I have, this week mainly Saints and Soldiers. The power has been really crappy this week. About 12 hours on and 12 hours off. It hasn't been fun. Usually the power goes off in the evening, so it makes for hot nights with no fan.
We should move into our new apartment soon. We were told that it should be around Friday. The tank that we use is our personal tank that takes in city water and is pumped into the house by our pump. Hopefully by next week we will be moved into it. We have been told that it is a second story level two bedroom apartment. They will just need to move our beds, fridge, pump, and maybe our desks into the new apartment.
It hasn't really rained really hard this week. When it does rain, the roads are usually instantly turned to mud. Nothing is paved here except the main roads and that is only most of the road. I haven't had any problem with my shoes or feet. We got the announcement about Elder Perry on Sunday at church. It was surprising to hear. You told me not long ago that he was sick, but I was surprised that he had died. It is a sad thing.
Later today, Adams and I will be going through town looking for some things and going to buy food. Later we will all go to Family Home Evening again, not to teach thank goodness. Enjoy your week and your last week in school. Let me know where Brigham gets his call to please.
Love you all. Have a good week
Love Elder Warner Ashby
P.S. cool story that happened this week.
We were contacting through a neighborhood and we decided to visit one compound we where passing. As we neared the entrance, a lady walks out and we start talking with her. She lets us sit and teach her. At the end of the lesson she tells us that she had been praying for help in some things in her life and she walked out of her compound and saw us there. We are looking forward to meeting with her.
Love you all
