Hey everyone.
I got the package this week. Everything made it fine and the apple pies were great. (Little mini hostess apple pies. A little bit of comfort food from home as he loves apple pie.) The watch is nice too. Thanks. It was strange to wear a watch after about a month of not wearing one.So ground nuts are similar to a peanut. It tastes almost exactly the same. Like they sell ground nut paste which is like an unsweetened peanut butter. It is not very nice. I don't know how they make ground nut soup but I want to find out how. (In my email I asked him to explain the ground nut. I wondered if it was ground up or came from the ground.)
I don't know how we will celebrate the 4th of July, but we will find some way. Elder Makuni and I are trying to work better together. We had an argument the other day about something that he thought he told me but I couldn't remember. The two of us just need to work on our communication. We talked about it today. It is something we need to work out because we will be together for another transfer or two I am sure. But I know we can do it.
Our baptism did not come on yesterday. Sister Felicia didn't come to church that day. We went to her house that evening. She just seems nervous about it and a little scared. We calmed her fears the best that we could and she said that next week she will come. Brother Joe A-- came to chruch again. We contacted him at the house that we met sister M--, the lady I told you about the other day. Joe is powerful, M-- can't give us a good time to come unfortunately. Also, we just found out that 2 children that are staying at a members house are not in fact members (or their children, which really surprised me. One of them has been coming to church every week since I have been here). We plan on beginning teaching them this week.
I saw another monkey this week. It was larger than the other ones that I have seen, same type but bigger. I was warned that it would probably bite me if I got to close. So I have pics of it but not of me and it. Sorry. Also, the cafe we are at does not allow pin drives so I can't send any of the pics I have. I have some of the new apartment and other things but they will have to wait. On Thursday, we went to the stake center to see presidents last address to the recent converts and investigators. It rained hard that day so only a few of our members came. One of the other wards brought their German ah broni (white) investigator. It was really strange. I know Verdoni used to teach her and I have seen pictures of them, but having another white person, who isn't a missionary in the same room was really weird.
The new mission President will come on July 1st, same day Holmes will leave. They will have about 3 hours to talk about the branches and groups in the mission.
You asked about some experiences where I have felt the influence of the Holy Ghost while on my mission. It is kind of strange that since coming on mission, I can almost always seem to discern what a persons concerns are from their question, or what church is corrupting their minds. I attribute that to the Holy Ghost.
If I may make a request for a future package, more of those instant meals please. I have found that they make nice food storage for days that I don't plan well on Sundays and real soup is a nice change to my diet.
