Transfer News

Elder Ashby will hit his "Bump Day" (his 6 month mark) tomorrow, March 3, 2015.  Happy day!

Hey everyone,

So, I am leaving Obuasi.  I will be transfered to Asuoyeboa (a see o bwa) Kumasi on Wednesday.  It is actually Elder Schraedel's old area that I will be in.  Our bus will leave at 4:30 AM, so we will be up early.  You guys will probably still be up when I leave.  I will go with Orji and hang out with him in Kumasi until we are supposed to meet at the station again to go to our area.  I will be with Elder Cockrom and I will also kill him. (I asked about this morbid mission lingo.  He said that an elder is born in his very first area and dies in his last area and the elder that he finishes with last kills him. Strange lingo.)  He is going home after this transfer.  Elder Schraedel got called as zone leader.  He will go to Elder Carpenter's area. (same apartment)  Unfortunately that means that we are white washed.  (another mission phrase meaning both the elders are transfered out of the area.)  It is very rare that both missionaries are moved and is usually when lazy missionaries are not doing anything in an area.  We have had a ton of success so I don't know why.  One of the ex AP's will train in that area and Schraedel will still be in the apartment to direct to our progressing investigators.
We taught the school again.  Not quite as fun as last week.  We taught them the 10 commandments this time.  We tried to confirm one of Mbiahs daughters.  The counselor who did it didn't have his hands on her head for some reason.  They were just hovering over.  I didn't know until Schraedel told me that they will have to redo it next week. The other one has an infection in her eye so she couldn't come.
Not much else happened this week.  Transferring will be interesting.  I hope all goes well for you.  Enjoy school and work.
Love Elder Warner Ashby

We asked him if he will be in a branch or ward in his new area.  He said, "I will be in a ward.  It will be nice."

We asked how he will take his microwave with him.  He said, "It can fit inside my bag.  The mission home is kind of close.  Close enough that we can go for special interviews."
