Dear family,
Sorry about the questions last week. I did get the peanut butter. It is amazing. The fruit leather is soft but not mushy. I try to avoid all bugs because of their size and I don't know what it will do to me. (We were curious about some of the bugs he might see like the blister beetle.) Obuasi doesn't have lights out problems like Kumasi. They just shut it off whenever they like. Somedays it will be out in the morning, others late into the night, others all night. (Much of Ghana is on a power cycle of 12 hours with the power on and 24 hours with the power off.)We had two baptisms yesterday. It was a miracle that it came on. Everything was going wrong. One of the members drained the font not knowing about the baptism and our water finished. We had to drive to another branch for it. The branch president was taking his time and we had no way of getting there because our money was almost finished. Happily, we got a trotro that was almost empty that was willing to drive all 10 or so of us there. Then, we found out that the clothes we brought had crappy zippers, and they really couldn't wear them. Also, happily, the branch we were at had a few clean ones for us. It wasn't easy, but, Glory be to the Father, and they were baptized. Hooray. We even challenged Mbiah's wife to come watch. Every time we challenged her previous, she wouldn't come. But she came yesterday to watch and said she liked it. We will see if she comes back.
Transfers are going to be announced at the end of this week. New missionaries are usually in their first area 4 transfers (6 months) and I will finish that this one. I am pretty sure that Elder Orji and I will leave Obuasi. I will miss it, but it will be good to get a change. I am hoping for an African companion. I thought that Schraedel would have been but nope. I also don't want to go to Kumasi. I want to stay in smaller towns and villages. We will find out on Saturday.
Today was our zone activity. We went to a waterfall and then played football. The waterfall was ok. Not as cool as Adams Canyon, but I got good pictures with other elders. I gave my zip drive to Williams today. He will pass it on to you sometime after he gets back.
I hope that you all have a great week. Enjoy school and work.
