Rain storms keep the people away

Hey you guys!

How are you all doing.  Sorry mom got sick on your trip.  Sounds like no fun.  My week was fine.  Our baptism fell through.  Our candidate didn't come to church on sunday.  We are not sure if it was because of a giant rain storm the day before or for another reason.  Life kind of stops around here when it rains.  Africans don't like the rain.  Neither do missionaries for that matter.  When it rained, Cockrum and I were in the apartment eating lunch when it started coming down.  So we waited around for a while.  No one is around during the rain, and if you do get in somewhere, they won't let you leave until the rain is over, which is fine if the person is cool, but if they aren't, it sucks.  So we are hoping Y--, our baptism candidate will come this sunday.  We also are hoping for a guy named E----.  He was a referral from a member and has been coming the last couple weeks even bringing his family and sharing with them our messages.  He didn't come last week because they wanted some money to buy white shirts and pants for church so they played instruments at another church to make money.  It was one of the better excuses we heard that day, mainly because it was a legit excuse not a crappy, uncommitted excuse.  So if all works we might have 2 baptisms this week.

Other than those, my week was kind of boring.  We tried contacting the beginning of this week with no success.  The highlight of the week was going home and playing Uno until bed.  We changed the rules to make it more interesting.  You have to draw until you can lay down and you can lay a draw two on a draw two to increase the number of cards for the next guy.  It can last a long time with a lot of cards in your hands.

Hopefully I will have more to talk about next week (like a baptism maybe).  I hope all goes well this week.  I love you
