Harmattan is here (Hot Dusty Winds)

Hey everyone,
Sorry for last weeks email.  We were at a crappy cafe where all the missionaries go so we had to leave to let them email.  And now to save time we are back in that same cafe.  We are having a district activity later at 3 so we are emailing quick.  Transfers ended this week.  The only person leaving is Elder Osei who will be a zone leader in Kumasi.  Elder Schraedel is going to be district leader, which means I have to go on splits with everyone.  I think this will be my last transfer in Obuasi.
So, 2 weeks ago, you said the weather was dusty, and I said not really.  (We check weather conditions for his area often)   I spoke to soon.  the Harmattan, (dry season) started and it is so dry, dusty and hot.  The people say it is the worst season for many years.  Bleh.  I had a picture of one clean shoe and a dirty shoe but I forgot my camera.  Sorry, next week.
By the way.  I forgot to mention that I got yours and Grandma's packages last week at zone conference.  I was to rushed to mention it.  Everything arrived fine.  But Grandma's chocolate was melted in the bag.  Everything else was in good condition.  Thanks for the extra meat.  I also got the letters from the ward.
We are expecting to have between 2 to 5 baptisms this week.  One of our guys passed his special interview and we have a few guys that we are excited for.  One guy who gave us a fake number on our first meeting will be one of them and some other cool guys we contacted.  One thing that bothered me this week was a guy that we are teaching who is making large steps to change his life style isn't getting any support from his family and people who live around him.  When he tells us he will come to church, they all shout that he is lying and is good for nothing.  It really makes me sad because he is really improving, but they can't see it, or won't see it.
I went on splits with Elder Osei this week,  It was cool.  He speaks the Twi so it helped some of our investigators a lot.  He was able to resolve a lot of their concerns.

Also, tell Gabbi and Dave not to worry and to stop praying for me not to eat a cat.  I have been trying to get people to make me fufu with cat but the one person we talked to about it that was going to do it failed on us and traveled.  Dog, not so much, if they cook it I will eat it (sorry max, close your ears), but I wont ask for it.  (He has a cousin that is very concerned for the cats in Ghana!)
Cordy, enjoy your new classes.  Gym is usually fun, with sports and stuff like that and you won't need to be super good at running or stuff.  Just as long as you improve small small. (yes small small,  Ghana talk).
I hope all goes well on Wednesday for you Dad.  I will be praying for you. (His Dad has his semi-annual CT scans and skin screening at Huntsman Hospital.) Tell Emma, "Happy Birthday".  I sent some letters last week, so hopefully they get there before her baptism.  I hope that we have time to talk next week.  I think we will actually be in the good cafe then.
I love you all.  Good luck in school and work.
Love Elder Warner Ashby
