(We received this wonderful handwritten letter in the mail today!)
December 15, 2014
Dear family,
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, or maybe Saint Patrick's Day, whichever is closest. I wanted to write you guys to tell you how much you all mean to me. I am grateful to all that you have taught me growing up, in how to work and enjoy working. Going out and walking 5 plus miles a day can be difficult but I have come to enjoy teaching people that I meet and sharing the message of the restoration. Most people we meet just invite us back because we are white, or they want to feed us all the time, or because we have an interesting message. But when we find that serious person, who really wants to change, that understands how the Gospel of Jesus Christ can change, it makes me feel good to know that I helped them understand something that can better their lives. Living in Ghana can stink sometimes. Hot sun most days, pouring rain the rest, and limited food options, but the people here are the nicest and humblest I have seen.
Even though it hasn't felt or looked like Christmas, I have been trying to remember the significance of this time of year and help my investigators remember it also.
I love you all. Have a merry Christmas.
Love , Elder Warner Ashby
