Hello everybody,
I am glad your Fourth of July celebrations went well. I will tell you of mine in a minute. Our baptisms are not until this Saturday, the 16th. the interviews were this week. We had 7 out of 8 come. The last had to go to town and we will do hers this week. All of them will baptize on Saturday. As for transfer news, Elder Patrick and I are staying together. He will be my last comp. Elder Carlson will be training, but his arrangement is somehow interesting. They will be in a foursome. There is a Nigerian missionary who will go home in 3 weeks that came to our apartment with out anyone telling us that will be part of their companionship. So kind of they are two companionships, but they are all one. He goes home in 3 weeks and then they will be a threesome and then three weeks later, I go. So I just have to endure for a short time. Because they surprised us with this, we don't have any supplies for them, things like a wardrobe, or chairs or nets or fans. Whatever.
This week was pretty good. I forgot to mention last week, but on July 2, the Carley's invited us over for breakfast. I had told Sister Carley about me making german pancakes and she had no idea what they were but she asked Sister Clawson about them and she told her how to make them. Then she asked me if she made them right. They tasted great. They also made eggs and regular pancakes.
After I emailed on Monday, we went to three different supermarkets for bacon cheeseburger supplies. We finally got them all and came back and started cooking. They were great. We made two for everyone. We might do it again in a few weeks.
Most of our proselyting this week was just preparing our investigators for there interview and reviewing the commandments. On Friday, we went to Waterloo to play football with the Waterloo branch. (Soccer for us Americans) They had challenged our district to a game. We beat them 4-3. They all wanted to play offense so their defense sucked. It was fun. The next day, the APs had invited us to play against their ward. I was too tired to play and was also suffering from runny tummy. So I just watched. Missionaries lost that game.
On Sunday, I finally got to watch General Conference in English. We watched the Sunday morning session. I was happy to hear a temple will be built in Zimbabwe. The conference was really good. Lots of talks on temples and the Atonement (which you already know I am sure). This week I decorated planner number 17. I put a lot of stamps on it and a Tony the Tiger on the back. The last one. Exciting.
I hope you all have a great week. Enjoy your heat. Have fun at the camps and work. I love you all.
Elder Warner Ashby
