This week

Hey everyone,

So this week was kind of nice.  It started off normal.  On Tuesday we were referred to an employee of one of our members who owns a salon.  We went there to teach her and learned that she doesn't speak English, only Krio.  She couldn't understand my English well and had a hard time understanding Samche's pigeon.  Thankfully, the member was able to help translate what we said.  Even with the language barrier,  she still understood the lesson well.

On Thursday, we were summoned to the mission home to have a trainers training with President.  It went very well.  I thought it would be like it was in Ghana, how to use the extra hour, how to do companionship inventory, how to learn from each other, etc.  But it was mainly about what was going to happen to the mission in coming months.  I will be taking the Allentown branch and Samche will take the other 2.  President said that when the second group comes in July, there will be more greenies than trainers, so some people might train 2 missionaries, or some greenies might train halfway into their own training.  And most will train right after their training.  It will be interesting to watch.

On Saturday, we had our baptisms for the Kossoh Town branch.  we had 5 people there and the Waterloo elders had 5 also.  Their chapel was out of water.  Daniel was one of them who baptized.  He was happy.  After the service, we had to take 2 sisters to the mission home for special interviews with President.  So we took several taxies and buses to get all of us there and back.  But they will baptize with a group in Grafton this week.  We will have 5 more for the Grafton branch that will baptize this week.  I actually know all these people.  Geniba is one, also Fatmata and Susuan who are sisters of the branch clerk and Sister Osie and Brother Ishmael who are a part member family.
President Doe is out of the hospital and will stay in Accra in the Alma house for awhile while they begin some physical therapy.  Hopefully in June, he will come home.

I hope your weeks go well.  Summer is almost there.  Just a couple more weeks of school.
I love you all,
      Elder Warner Ashby
So this first picture is a plate full of rice.  It is the average amount of rice I eat per meal.
Just in case you want to compare to the average amount of rice we eat back home per week.
