P-Week

Hey guys,
Well this week has been somehow long.  Elder Lindley got sick on Monday and was put on bed rest by Sister Barney and Sister Cosgrave.  So we didn't get out until Friday.  I have called this week my P-Week.  We think that he just ate something unclean, but we can't figure out what.  On Monday, we had our fireside.  We locked Elder Lindley in the primary room with a mattress to get some sleep while we held the activity.  There was a good turnout.  Mainly the young single adults came but they all had fun.  We started by having our tour of the Plan of Salvation.  Last week I was typing up the principles taught in every phase to give out to people.  I was in charge of the Spirit World.  It was cool.  After, we played a few group games.  One of them that I did was a sign game where everyone is copying the movements of a leader and one person has to find the leader.  Then Ike brought a "what if" game where everyone writes a "what if" question and then others write an answer and then one person reads their question and the next reads the answer.  They all had a good time.  We also had few investigators come to it also.

Tuesday, I took Elder Norty-annan to Kumasi with me.  Elder Mkandla stayed with Lindley.  We were supposed to be at the mission home by 10, but traffic got us there late.  I apologized to President many times.  The training was good.  It was about the qualities of a leader and how to lead effectively.  I told Sister Cosgrave and the office elders about the letter with the licence, and they brought out a letter from Cordy and a package from Grandma.  I don't know if that was it but that is what they gave me.  I really hope that I don't have to go to Kumasi anytime soon. (We had put a letter in with his International Drivers License but it got filed in the office and he hasn't received it. Sad! )

Wednesday and Thursday were spent reading the scriptures and Jesus the Christ.  I have reached Chronicles in the Old Testament.  It is a really interesting book.  Really interesting.  (In case any meaning is lost in writing, this is sarcasm).  And I also slept a lot too.  On Friday, I had my first baptism interview.  She didn't speak any English so there was her son who is a member that helped us translate.  I think I did well but with time it will improve. Her baptism was on Sunday.  I was slightly annoyed with the other companionship because I was the only one doing anything to prepare for it.  The two are both green, the senior companion is just out of training and training a new missionary.  I am the oldest in the apartment by about 10 months.  I will have to instruct Elder Norty-annan on how to do a baptism service.

We did have a few good lessons this week.  One of them, Kwame, expressed a desire to be baptized soon.  Coming to church has been the biggest difficulty with him.  Missionaries have been meeting with him since just after I left obuasi and he is now ready.  We are planning to teach him everything else this week and get him an interview also.  I am excited.

I hope you all have a good week.  I love you all.
