Getting to see old friends

Hey everyone,

I am glad that everyone's week was good.  My week was nice.  Found some cool people this week.  I will talk about some of them later.  I haven't received any letters for a while.  Maybe you can message Sis. Cosgrave about the one with the license.  And hopefully I get the one from Dad soon.  The reason I haven't talked about Elder Lindley's fufu experience is because he only had his first this week.  I know, I am a terrible trainer but he got it.  Last week, after emailing, we went to the Exodus restaurant  to eat for a one year celebration.  We got burgers again, same as for my birthday.  After, I wanted to visit some of my recent converts and members.  So we started with Sister Adam's and while we were there, she said she wanted to discus something, but turns out that she wanted to feed us.  So we were trapped.  But it was really good fufu.  And Elder Lindley liked it. Or as much as you can on your first time.  He said he didn't dislike it.  After, we visited Kwardro and then had to go to a Family Home Evening with a member.  We are starting a thing where we go to a different family every Monday and have Family Home Evening.  My old members were happy to see me.  And I was really happy to see them.

This week we found some pretty cool people.  One of them is a referral from a person who comes to church.  (Not a member and technically not an investigator because he has 2 wives and we can't teach him)  He brought his son to church a few weeks ago and this week we were able to get his number and visit him.  He brought a friend with him and we also taught him.  They are pretty cool guys.  The father is unteachable but they can be cool.  Another is a guy that we have passed and talked to on the road several times.  He is a friendly guy who is always happy to talk to us, so on our last meeting we collected his number and he pointed out his house to us.  A couple days later, we decided to see him.  We had a nice but long lesson with him because he had very off topic questions, but it was still nice.

On Saturday, Branch 2, my old branch, had an activity that the missionaries of Obuasi were invited to and could bring their youth to. It was a football activity.  So we brought one of our young men with us and played football with them.  I got to see some of my other members and some of my almost-recent converts.  It was a lot of fun.

Today, we helped one of our members with the farm work.  We went and plucked corn and shucked it for them.  They will dry it and use it as corn meal.  It was really funny, because Elder Lindley got a small cut on his hand from a stalk and the lady freaked out.  It was just a paper cut basically but she made him sit down and stop plucking the corn.  I wasn't really helping any, in fact I probably made things worse because I was encouraging her.  I am a evil person.  He was trying to keep working, but she wouldn't let him.

I hope you all have a great week.  Enjoy school and working on the bathroom.
Love, Elder Warner Ashby
