Hey Everyone,
Sorry I couldn't talk today. My new companion wanted to teach this morning and I still had to show him around the market. It has been a long day so far. I was really looking forward to talking today.
I got my new companion this week. His name is Elder Schraedel from Farmington. I gave him the house number so you might be getting a call from his family. He enjoys contacting, which is good because I don't so we balance out. We found some new cool people so it paid off.
On Tuesday, we spent a lot of time talking with the guys leaving and we watched a movie together before bed. The next day, they left around 5 in the morning, so we got up to help with bags and see them off. That morning, we cleaned the apartment and then Orji and I went out together. Our new comps came that evening. Elder Carpenter is Orji's new companion from Arizona. He didn't talk much for the first few days, but when we finally got him talking, he is really funny. Schraedel is kind of by the books. He is cool. We never did get the door fixed
(the bathroom door), but it works fine if you pull the broken part off the ground.
So for Christmas, I can actually do both Skype and call if you wanted. Getting a sim card out here is easy, I would just replace the mission one with that one and call. So next week you can tell me what type you want and when I should call. I can call for as long as I want really.
I haven't gotten any packages as of yet, but zone leaders are going to Kumasi
tomorrow so maybe they will bring some. I have still been waiting for my B-day and Christmas for those packages to open also. I was thinking that maybe you could send me a conference edition of the Ensign because we never got it. It went from October to December.
No I have never hit a lion, and honestly, I am not sure I would, I value life to much for that. The most exotic I have seen is turkeys, chickens and goats wandering the streets.
Our baptism candidates, Mbiah and his granddaughter couldn't make it to church because Mbiah got some sort of boils all over his body, so we are praying he can recover for this Sunday. Temple is still coming to church, but is not wanting to interview for baptism. He believes he was destined to be an evangelist forever, and he wants to be a missionary, but not pay for it. But we are still working with him.
I bought my cake mixes for my birthday today. I will be looking forward to S
unday, especially if we will be baptizing people that day too.
I love you all. Enjoy your heat wave.
(we are having warmer than normal weather for December) I am enjoying my eternal one.
Love, Elder Warner Ashby
P.S. Elder Carpenter is cool. For the first while, he stayed in his room with Orji so the apartment was quiet, but we finally got him to talk and he is really funny, and a walking paid advertisement for the Nutri Blender or something like that. I now know everything about it
