Hey guys,
So first of all, transfer news. We had a good time
on Friday finding news and spreading false news, but officially, I am staying with elder Orji (who is now a ZL), Elder Helgesen is going to Officina and Elder Adams is going to Bulkrum to be a DL. My new companion is Elder Shredel (I think it is spelled like that) from Utah, I think. He is coming from Asiobwa. the other guys say that he is cool and that we will enjoy working together. So it should be cool. I could stay in Obuasi 1 maybe 2 more transfers. Transfers don't happen till Wednesday so we are all here together till then. Unfortunately, that means we have to get all our pranks in by then. Me and Adams got Helgesen soaked with water balloons yesterday and then we all got Orji really wet too. It was great. Orji was laughing. Helgesen tried to get me and Adams back but we caught him and failed.
The packages were great. I didn't eat anything when I opened them but the chocolates were stuck together small but I tossed them in the fridge and we finished them the other night. They were great. Everything else arrived just fine also. Thank you, (everyone else says thank you too). The peanut butter
(singles) is amazing. I didn't realize how much I missed PB and J sandwiches. One thing of peanut butter makes about two sandwiches. So far I have used two of them. I bought jelly the next day so I could have some to go with it. They are small but they are great.
So, this week was cool. We had interviews for 3 of the 4 baptism candidates. Temple never came or answered his phone. Every one passed.
On Sunday, we had one baptism, Brother Thomas. He felt prompted to come the church one day and came every day since. Mbiah and his granddaughter, the 2 others couldn't come. A few weeks ago, the granddaughter had chicken pox and now Mbiah caught it. I hope he recovers soon. They should get baptized next week with Temple hopefully.

This is Thomas, our recent convert. He was walking by the church when he felt
prompted to come in one Sunday. He has come every Sunday since and enjoyed.
We started teaching him and found out that he can't read, but he took a Book of Mormon anyway.
I baptized him with two other people yesterday. |
We have been teaching this one guy whose extended family are members. He wants to join them. We taught him lesson 2 and 3 the other day. We extended a baptism date to him and asked if his wife and 9 year old son would join him. He said that his wife can't speak much English, but if she wants too. We mentioned eternal marriage to him and he got really excited and they talked in Twi small. she kind of blew it off but he said they would talk and they would do it. It was cool.
On Wednesday, my 3 month mark, I got sick for the first time. I think it was a combination of something I ate and working out to hard the night before. I woke up in the morning sore and no appetite and abdominal cramps with no energy at all. I slept the entire morning. I was better enough to go and teach 1 or 2 lessons that evening but then I crashed in bed that night. The next day I was completely fine, so I don't know what happened.
I can do what ever calling method on Christmas. I think I would need to get a SIM card too and bundle some international credit for calling but that won't be hard. I figured that I couldn't do anything until around 12 here anyway. I can call for however long you are available for, so whatever works for you. I wouldn't be skyping
on Monday, I would come here to the cafe for that on Christmas.
So, I have a question. When did you get another physco gremlin? It looks cool though. I look forward to the packages that are coming and I will try to give better descriptions of their condition. So far, everything is arriving fine, smashed but fine.
I hope all is well at home. 2 1/2 weeks till Christmas. I am looking forward to working with my new companion. I am a bit nervous about showing him the area, but it will be fine.
I love you all. Have fun at school and work.
Love Elder Warner Ashby
