A good week.

Hello Everyone,
This week was good.  On Monday, we had an FM (free meal) with the district pres.  They made two large bowls of Jollof rice for our zone.  It was good but hot.  Thanksgiving was somehow cool.  We spent the day doing regular proselyting and then I made a pretty good fried fish with garlic salt and some plantain chips.
On Friday, we were supposed to have two baptism interviews, but one guy, Thomas, wouldn't answer his phone and Temple went someplace and never came.  That kind of sucked.  The other guys were supposed to have a baptism on Sunday but it failed also.  We missed our district goal by one.  If everything had worked out, we could have exceeded it by 2.  Oh well.  Agency.  This month will be good for baptisms we think.  This week we are trying to get 4, Thomas, Temple, and two others, Peter, and Mbiah.  It will be cool.
I got the chocolate package and Grandma's package today.  I opened them because I wanted the chocolate and I opened Grandma's too.  I still haven't opened the other 3 yet,  those I will wait to open.  Thank you, Grandma!
This is my last week of training.  We think that Helgesen will leave next week, and possibly Orji.  I will stay at least one more transfer.  I hope that Helgesen's brother enjoyed dinner. (Elder Helgesen's brother is serving his mission in our home town.  We were able to take him and his companion out to dinner last week.  Small world!)  Depending on how you eat here is how much you gain or lose.  If you only eat bread rice and beans, you will get a gut.  If you skip meals, you will lose a lot of weight.  I exercise a few times a week to keep from getting fat. (We asked if he was getting a rice belly from eating so much rice.)
So for Christmas, I can either skype or get a sim card to call.  Skype is the more popular method for obvious reasons.  White handbook says, "preferably 30 - 40 minutes"  but we don't have specific times to call.  I guess that you guys are supposed to cover calls home I am told.  That's all I know. (We asked him how Christmas phone calls work.  I didn't even know they had the ability to Skype.)  I can usually make it on sub (his bi-weekly allotment of money),  unless we buy a large amount of meat as an apartment.  We bought a ton of fish last sub so I drew out some from my account last week.  It is usually only 50 cedes that I draw out.
I also,  I gave a talk on scriptures on Sunday.  It was good.  3 minutes or so.  I chose a topic from my farewell talk and some quotes from my missionary companion book.  It was a good talk.

Love you guys.  Have fun at school this week.  First week of December.  Talk to you next week.
Love, Elder Warner Ashby

(Even when he was just a little kid, he has had some gruesome
fascination with smashed snakes. Always wanting to take pictures of them.)
