Mountains

Hey everyone,

Today is a late email.  We had a meeting at the mission home this morning.  I will say more on that later.

This week was cool.  We worked the entire week with Brother Quintin.  He has been a great help to us in showing us the area and introducing us to new people.  We met a lot of less active members and former investigators who we are excited to work with.  Some of them even came to church this week which made us happy.  We were referred to two sisters living close to the chapel.  We met them and taught them lesson one.  We came the next day to say hello.  One of the sisters told us that after she prayed, she had a dream that night.  It wasn't  a useful dream. She said that in the dream, she was singing a gospel song and she went to buy water and someone tried to slap her but couldn't.  Like I said, not a useful dream.  We told her to keep praying and look for the feelings of the spirit.  They still came to church, which was great.  The branch is really happy to have missionaries back in their branch now.  We have lots of people who want to help us and introduce us to their family and friends.  I was asked to teach the youth Sunday School class on Sunday.  I taught about who is my neighbor from the Good Samaritan.  We had a good discussion.  I always enjoy teaching the youth.

That night we got a text from the zone leader (Elder Samche) (did I mention in past letters that I am District Leader again?  If not, hey I am District Leader.) that we were going to have a meeting with Elder Standfield of the Area Seventy.  I guess he gave a talk in conference.  He is the second councilor in the Area Presidency and he was here for a district conference in Bo.  He stayed an extra day and said he wanted to meet with us, even thought it was P-day.  So in the morning, we went to the mission home and listened to him. It was cool, he talked about how we are pioneers because the church will look at what we do and decide what to do in unopened areas of the world.  He talked about our purpose and read in D&C 1 about how the Lord calls servants to bring people back from apostasy, and restored the priesthood and temple ordinances.  It was really good, and we learned a lot.

That is about all that happened this week.  Elder Patrick and I are doing great together.  He is a really great teacher.  We are enjoying the mountains here in Allentown.

I hope you all have a great week.  I will try to send some pictures of us. Sorry, no market pictures or scenery.  Hopefully next week.  If my card survives.

Love you all.

love, Elder Warner Ashby

PS This cafe might spoil my card.  Sorry, no pics.  Lets hope for next week.
