Week one and rainy season

Yo everyone,

How are you all.  Transfers went well.  Elder Bradley moved rooms as soon as we got home last Monday.  I felt strange leaving without Cockrum and Dekaye. They are back home enjoying.  Oh well.  Week one was long.  It always is when you aren't transfered.  So I haven't gotten my hair cut yet, but I am planning on it tonight.  My clippers decided to go crappy on me.  They don't move fast enough and or my hair is to thick for them.  (I think he waited to long to cut his hair.)  I am going to use Elder Bradley's tonight.  Our apartment is quieter now.  Elder Opio and Elder Onen are usually in their room so Bradley and I usually watch movies in the evening, like RM, Other Side of Heaven, Emphraim's Rescue, Singles Ward, etc.  Freetown would be cool. (so would Avengers, you can send that anyway). (We were planning on sending the mission a copy of Freetown when it comes out on video.  But not Avenger's--Silly boy)

Power situation is the same and will be until the government does something.  What is the difference between 220 volt and 110 volt anyway?  Does that have something to do with the power being crappy you think?

This week has been a lot of contacting with small success.  It is hard to find a time good for contacting.  In the morning, people are at work. In the afternoon, people are cooking or washing or asleep. In the evening, people are cooking.  After 5 forget, people are cooking, eating, bathing, or preparing to sleep.  But we did find some cool people.  Elder Opio found a guy who stays in a hotel next door to us.  His name is Mark and he is in Kumasi for a movie he is directing.  He says that he is interested in LDS because he has been to other churches, but finds that there are one or two things that he doesn't like.  We taught him the restoration and he really liked it.  We invited him to church and offered to pick him because he was so close.  He agreed, so on Sunday, we went to the hotel but he wasn't there.  When we called him, he said he was already at the church.  The guy is powerful.  I am just hoping all will go well with him as we go through the teachings.

The rainy season is starting.  Every couple evenings, we look into the sky and see dark clouds coming and thunder booming.  Usually, when we see that, we find shelter, or the apartment if it is close enough.  Last night, we were in a lesson with Sister Charity.  By the end we could hear the thunder.  When we closed, we looked into the sky and saw the clouds.  We quickly left and headed home.  It was our last appointment anyway.  We were just hoping we could get home before the rain came and soaked us.  We were about half way when the wind shifted and really started blowing.  We ran after that.  We were in sight of the apartment when the rain came down on us but we made it inside before it came down hard.  Also, every time it rains, they take the lights for a few hours, so that also bites, but later it came back.

I hope you guys have a good week.  Enjoy school and work.  Love you guys.

Love,
Elder Warner Ashby

 P.S.

We also had another baptism this week.  Sister Sanda.  She is a 14 year old girl who was a referral from a member.  She has been coming to church for a few months and has brought a friend with her that has also been coming for a while.  After sacrament meeting, she was saying she wanted to baptize next week saying that she was sick.  We figured that she was just nervous and that if we postponed, she would say the same thing next week.  So we convinced her to go this week anyway.  She seemed happy after the baptism was over so I was glad.
